The YA Shelves

The Young Adult Shelves, located on the Library's main level near the periodicals, are a popular destination for New Canaan students. Here they can find new young adult books and lists of recommended titles for reading and listening. They can also browse through the 1600 paperbacks, 60 graphic novels, 200 audiobooks, and selected nonfiction the YA shelves.

Displayed on top of the shelves are the library's latest young adult books, both fiction and nonfiction. The paperbacks that fill the shelves range from classics to summer reading selections to self-help books to popular YA series. The growing collection of YA audiobooks is split between books on cassette and books on compact disc. Many titles are available in both book and audiobook forms. And the graphic novels include popular series, true crime, history, biography, and fantasy.

From Alcott to Zindel, the YA collection offers New Canaan's middle and high school students hundreds of choices for good reading and listening.
