DESCRIPTION:Children entering grades 3 through 6 in the fall of 2023 will 
 join local award-winning authors, Caroline and Katherine Brickley, in lear
 ning how to make their very own picture book over the course of this 5-day
  camp. Sessions will consist of engaging lessons, learning activities, gam
 es, and more. By the end of the program, children will have completed a pi
 cture book to be added to a special spot in the library.\r\nLearning Objec
 tives:\r\nThrough this picture book writing camp, children will . . .\r\n	
 Learn about some of the most important aspects of picture book creation â€
 ” from development through design\r\n	Learn how to utilize their creativit
 y to transform an idea into a tangible, finished product\r\n	Discover thei
 r own picture book writing voice\r\n	Recognize the importance of the uniqu
 e stories they carry inside\r\n	Develop confidence to share their stories 
 as well as be inspired to celebrate those of others\r\n	Learn how to provi
 de positive, constructive feedback to fellow writers\r\nRegistration for t

 d\r\nCaroline and Katherine Brickley are twin sisters and award-winning lo
 cal children’s book authors. Their most recent picture book, The Friendl
 y Bookshelf, is about an adorable library bookshelf named Bibli and his jo
 urney to find a story about someone like him. In addition to writing inspi
 ring picture books, Caroline and Katherine develop an assortment of enrich
 ing media and products based on their stories, from huggable plushies to l
 earning games and catchy songs. With backgrounds in creative writing, educ
 ation, and child psychology, the Brickley Sisters also enjoy working with 
 children through learning programs and in-person events to help young stor
 ytellers discover their voices and share their own stories.
