 n a performance that celebrates two historic milestones: the Martha Graham
  Dance Company’s 100th anniversary and our national America 250 commemor
 ation. There will be two identical performances, this one at 7:00 PM. Ther
 e is a 5:30 PM performance also listed on our calendar with a separate reg
 istration link. “Mother of Modern Dance” Martha Graham (1894–1991) 
 is a 20th-century icon, revolutionizing dance by creating a new, expressiv
 e physical language based on emotional intensity and grounded movement. Sh
 e is often compared to artistic giants such as Picasso, Stravinsky, and Fr
 ank Lloyd Wright for her impact, and the dance company she founded in 1926
  continues today. Graham changed how dance was presented, collaborating wi
 th artists like sculptor Isamu Noguchi on sets and costumes, and using ang
 ular, intense choreography that brought emotional truth to the stage. By 
 highlighting the Graham tradition as a touchstone of our shared history, t
 his event honors the American spirit and the powerful role of art in shapi
