DESCRIPTION:Ready to embark on an exciting cultural journey and bring your
imagination to life? Join us for China Discovery, an engaging, hands-on 4
-week workshop series where children explore Chinese heritage through crea
tive art, bringing iconic Chinese foods and culinary traditions to life! (
Please note: This is a hands-on art and crafting workshop. No actual food
will be served or consumed during class.)Designed for students in grades 2
–4 (ages 7–9), each weekly session introduces a beloved traditional Ch
inese food or festive treat—from traditional mooncakes and hand-pulled n
oodles to lucky dumplings and candied fruit skewers. Through interactive s
torytelling and hands-on art activities using colorful, lightweight clay,
paper, and other creative materials, participants will explore the cultura
l stories and traditions behind these foods while developing fine motor sk
ills through molding, texturing, folding, shaping, and arranging. Children
will create their own unique artistic interpretations of traditional Chin
ese foods to take home. All skill levels are welcome, and all materials wi
ll be provided. This class meets for four Saturdays (9/19, 9/26, 10/3, and
10/10) and is strictly capped at 12 students. Out of respect to the instru
ctor and due to the limited number of seats, please commit to attending on
all four dates. Lessons will build on one another. About the InstructorÂ
