 ary Lewis at New Canaan Library for a conversation about Strang’s work 
 and the influence of the Sarasota School of Architecture on his career. Th
 e talk will also highlight his multi-faceted initiative that aims to prese
 rve, update and honor the contributions of the pioneering Florida architec
 t Gene Leedy (1928-2018)\r\nFor 25 years, Strang has demonstrated a comm
 itment to creating high-quality designs with a focus on academic and profe
 ssional engagement. In 1998 he founded Strang Design, a multidisciplinary 
 design firm respected for advancing its ethos of Environmental Modernism. 
 His design approach considers the future impact climate change will have o
 n residential and urban development in the coming decades. Elevated to the
  AIA College of Fellows in 2016 and consistently recognized locally, regio
 nally, and nationally for the strength of his design work, Strang has won 
 dozens of awards, including the 2022 AIA Miami Architect of the Year, 2018
  AIA Florida Medal of Honor for Design, and 2013 AIA Miami Silver Medal fo
 r Design.\r\nStrang has been published in over 200 magazines, news intervi
 ews, and books and has produced two firm monographs, most recently Subtro
 pic, The Architecture of [STRANG], which reflects the concepts of environm
 ental modernism showcased in the firm’s numerous residential projects. N
 otably, his firm was recognized as the 2022 Firm of the Year by AIA Miami.
 \r\nGlass House Presents is an ongoing series of live events that extends
  the site’s historic role as a gathering place for artists, architects, 
 and other creative minds. This talk is co-hosted by New Canaan Library a
 nd supported in part by the New Canaan Community Foundation.
