Program Description
Event Details
Celebrate Diwali with the art of mehendi! Mehendi (mehndi) is a traditional form of body art using all-natural mehendi paste to create intricate designs on the skin. Commonly applied during festivals and celebrations, mehendi is especially popular during Diwali as a symbol of joy, beauty, and good fortune.
NCHS senior Siya will apply mehendi for children ages 5+, teens, and adults. Siya hopes this event will be an opportunity to give back to her community, and she suggests a $5 donation to New Canaan Library. You can donate to the Library's Annual Fund here (Please note "mehendi" in the comments) or bring cash to your appointment.
REGISTER HERE. Appointments are available on October 29 and November 4. Mehendi application takes approximately 15 minutes, and mehendi takes 15 minutes to dry. Siya uses natural mehendi, which contains no additives, but anyone with sensitive skin or allergies should consult with Siya before application. Registration full? Add your name to the WAITLIST BELOW. We will email you if a spot becomes available.
