The Annual Fund

The Annual Fund supports the learning and literacy programs, exceptional collections, adult classes and lectures, and essential services for our community. While the Town of New Canaan provides a grant that helps cover the Library’s operating expenses, we need the community’s help to fund the rest.

The Capital Campaign

The Campaign for the NEW New Canaan Library has a goal to raise $40 million. We are well on our way thanks to many generous private donors and a $10 million grant from the Town. We are tremendously honored by the substantial support of our early donors and believe our goal is in sight; we need your gift or pledge to complete the plan.

The Patron Society

Membership in the society recognizes individuals who have made a commitment of annual support to the Library at the level of $1,000 or more. Patron Society members enjoy unique benefits such as invitations to special events.

Honor and Memorial Giving

Honor someone with a gift to the Library. Tribute gifts may be made for birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions. Gifts in memory of loved ones are also fitting tributes and the Library will provide acknowledgment to the honoree or family of the honoree.

Planned Giving

Planned giving opportunities allow donors to make significant, long-term commitments to the Library which align with individual planning goals. There are several ways to plan a gift to the Library, including: a planned estate gift; bequests; naming the Library as a beneficiary on an insurance policy or retirement plan; and/or establishing a charitable trust benefiting the Library. Fundraising Events

The Spring Edition event is a beloved literary celebration for our community. Each spring we host a leading author and reception. Like the Annual Literary Luncheon, this event ensures that New Canaan Library will continue to provide the very best library services to our community.
