New Canaan Library participates in a statewide and national Interlibrary Loan system. Titles not in our collection due to publication date, topic or academic focus may often be borrowed from another library. We are unable to request movies, audio books, and other audiovisual materials through Interlibrary Loan. Books must be at least 6 months old to be eligible for Interlibrary Loan. If your title is less than six months old, please fill out our Suggest A Purchase form here.
Please note that you must be a New Canaan Library cardholder in good standing to request items through Interlibrary Loan. If you are not a New Canaan resident, please contact your home library to place an Interlibrary Loan request.
Interlibrary Loans depend on other institutions, so our access to other materials is limited at this time. While you may place an ILL request, it may take much longer than usual or may not be fulfilled
Please note, it may take up to 3 weeks for your interlibrary loan item(s) to be ready for pick up.
