Program Description

Event Details

Reserve a bookmaking kit with everything you need to make a book with moveable chess pieces. Our book components were created with MakerLab equipment including 3D printed chess pieces and Cricut cut paper.  Each page of your book will feature a chess piece and when assembled will have moveable pieces that illustrate the movement allowed for that piece.  This project will highlight potential uses for MakerLab equipment as well demonstrate bookbinding techniques.  Those new to chess will deepen their familiarity with the pieces and those more experienced can make a fun chess-theme book.  Those under 10 will need adult help assembling.  Pick up your reserved kit from a table outside the MakerLab any time during the chess tournament day (Saturday, November 2).
