Celebrate the 20th anniversary of the If I Built series and the launch of If I Built a Town with renowned author and illustrator Chris Van Dusen. Chris will read his latest book and share how the If I Built series developed, followed by a book signing. We'll have building-inspired crafts for kids to enjoy.
NOTE: The signing line will be open to anyone who has purchased If I Built a Town. Elm Street Books will be on-site selling books. Pre-order If I Built a Town here. We will distribute signing line wristbands to adults at event check-in/book pickup or upon purchase of If I Built a Town the day of the event.
Please register each person who will attend (adults as well as children).
Chris Van Dusen is the author and illustrator of many highly acclaimed picture books, including The Circus Ship and the hugely popular Mercy Watson series. The first book in this series, If I Built a Car, won the E.B. White Read-Aloud Award, and the most recent, If I Built a School, is a New York Times Bestseller. Chris and his wife have two sons and live in Camden, Maine, with their pup.

This program is designed for children and their caregivers to participate together. Please plan to attend and be engaged with your child throughout this program. Please avoid side conversations or cell phone use for the duration of the program. Drop offs will not be permitted.
