Warm, tender, and ready in a flash — biscuits and quick breads are the comforting cornerstones of any baker’s repertoire. In this class demonstration, you’ll learn the techniques behind light, flaky biscuits and moist, flavorful quick breads, all without yeast or long rise times. From classic buttermilk biscuits to sweet and savory muffins like banana bread and cornbread, you’ll explore the science of leavening, the role of fat, and how to avoid common pitfalls. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned home cook, you'll leave with practical tips, tested recipes, and the confidence to bake from scratch anytime the craving hits.
Chef Lamour Workman, was classically trained in France and her approach often reflects the skill and rigor of her education; however, she is mindful of making recipes accessible to the home cook. Her food reflects who she is, where she calls home and how everyday encounters shape how she cooks and experiences food.
