Program Description

Event Details

Join New Canaan Library for our first Community Cake-Off event! Get your aprons and appetites ready as we invite you to bake a homemade cake to share with the community. Everyone who brings a cake will be able to sample 8 other servings of homemade cakes.

Please read the rules before registering:

  • Registration is required. There is no charge to participate, but you must register beforehand.

  • Bring a whole HOMEMADE cake to share with everyone. All cakes must be at least 8 inches wide x 3 inches tall, or able to be cut into 8 servings. (This include loafs, bars, and cupcakes, too!)

  • One cake per person: Families are welcome to work in teams, each family or participant who brings a cake can only take 8 servings (1 cake = 8 servings). If you are under 12, you must register with an adult. Only registrants may take 8 servings.

  • Bring a cake server and take-away containers: You will need a server and a knife to cut and serve slices of your cake, and containers for the slices of cakes you will try/take home.

  • Label your cake: Clearly label your cake’s ingredients, especially if it contains allergens, and feel free to share your cake’s story. Any cake that doesn't come with a full recipe will not be able to be served.

  • Be prepared: We recommend bringing a picnic blanket to sit on, a water bottle, and salty snacks to balance the sweetness of all the cakes you will try.

RAIN DATE is Sunday, May 31st from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM.
