Program Description

Event Details

In this upbeat beginner guitar session, students will be introduced to the basic parts of the guitar, the names of the strings, and how the instrument works through a live demonstration. This will be an interactive program where kids can choose to pass around a guitar to try simple strums and sounds, followed by a short Q&A to ask questions about guitar playing and getting started. Best for ages 8-13.

Whit O'Reilly is a local student, guitarist, and music teacher who works with kids to make learning guitar fun, approachable, and song-focused. Drawing on 5 years of playing experience and over a year of teaching experience, Whit emphasizes clear fundamentals, playing real music early, and helping each student feel successful at their own pace.
