Event Details
“Martha Graham (1894–1991) is a 20th-century icon who is known as the mother of modern dance, and the dance company she founded in 1926 continues today. Children aged 6 - 13 are invited to join the renowned Martha Graham dancers for a performance of some of her repertory classics in brief: Lamentation, Satyric Festival Song, and the Apple Dance from El Penitente. An optional dance lesson follows to learn a few moves from each of the dances. We are pleased to present this program in recognition of two historic milestones: Martha Graham Dance Company's 100 years and our national America 250 commemoration.
A photographer will be taking pictures of this event. If do not want your child photographed, please let our library staff know.
