Program Description

Event Details

Children and teens ages 8-20 have the rare opportunity to perform a song or monologue and receive professional feedback from Broadway and film performers, directors, agents, and producers in New Paradigm Theatre’s signature event. Audience members of all ages are invited to watch the performances and learn from our Broadway professionals' extensive feedback.

Performers will receive feedback from the following panelists:

Jamibeth Margolis – NY casting director

David Friedman – Film and theatre composer (especially Disney!), songwriter, author, lyricist, and conductor

Mark Aldrich – Broadway performer and author

Kristin Huffman, Artistic Director of New Paradigm Theatre, Broadway veteran, and professor at the University of Hartford’s Hartt School, will also lead a “talk back" after the event, with a panel discussion for participants and audience members. Audience members and participants may ask insider questions about the industry.

Please register through this calendar post to join the audience. If you would like to perform, please visit the PERFORMER REGISTRATION page.

Accessibility and Accommodations

We strive to facilitate access to information and Library services for all patrons. If you have questions about accessibility or a request for accommodation, please phone 203-594-5002, email the librarian in charge of this program (see contact info above), or email [email protected] with as much lead time as possible.

Participation Guidelines

If your child is under 12 years old, an adult caregiver must remain in the library for the duration of the program. If your child finishes a program early, or if a child becomes ill, distressed, or behaves in a manner that interferes with other participants’ enjoyment of the program, they may be released from class before the program’s end time. Please ensure that your child knows exactly where to find you at all times.
