Event Details

Join Brookyln (the dog) and her caretaker Toni (the human) as kids get a chance to read with them for 15 minutes. Kids in grades K-5th are welcome to bring a book or choose one from the library. Parents are asked to wait in the children's room while their child enjoys reading together with Brooklyn.

Register one child per slot, please only register for one slot 4:15, 4:30, 4:45 or 5:00 PM. REGISTER HERE. Registration full? Add your name to the WAITLIST BELOW. We will email you if a spot becomes available.

Brooklyn and Toni are a part of the Reading Education Assistance Dogs® [R.E.A.D.] which has gained a nationwide reputation as an outstanding method for helping children of all ages to improve their reading skills and comprehension. Quite simply, children in the program – in schools and libraries – read to the dogs! Again and again, the dogs’ presence, loving and non-judgmental, proves to have a calming effect on the youngsters. That relaxed attitude promotes more enthusiastic reading.  And – it is fun!
