In Partnership with Inclusive Together & New Canaan Library
Join Inclusive Together and Sweet P Bakery for a one-of-a-kind Adaptive Holiday Cookie Baking Class designed especially for young bakers who are neurodivergent or benefit from additional communication and sensory supports.
Each participant will measure and mix ingredients, roll out and cut their own cookie dough during the class. Everyone will bring home their cut-out dough in a festive box, complete with easy baking instructions, plus extra icing and sprinkles for decorating. In addition, each participant will decorate two pre-baked cookies in class.
Please note that this is not a drop-off event. Each participant will need a caregiver to stay and share in the experience. Your presence helps ensure a fun, safe, and successful time for everyone! Therapists are also welcome to join—this is a great opportunity to support skill-building in a relaxed, enjoyable setting.
Inclusive Together is proud to underwrite this event. Inclusive Together creates meaningful opportunities for individuals with invisible disabilities—and their families and caregivers—by empowering and educating communities.
These classes are led by Terri Cahn, Pastry Chef of Sweet P Bakery, who developed a specialized training program to help adults with disabilities build independence and confidence in the workplace. Sweet P Bakery’s inclusive business model, founded by Andrea Pecoriello, is recognized as a pioneering example of meaningful employment for adults with disabilities.
The cookie dough and cookies do not contain nuts.
Please note that Sweet P Bakery is a peanut free facility, however other nuts are present in the bakery.
