Are you ready to be a book reviewer? Passionate readers in grades 4 to 6, join Miss Rebecca to learn how professional book reviewers talk about books.

Join Brookyln (the dog) and her caretaker Toni (the human) as kids get a chance to read with them for 15 minutes. Kids in grades K-5th are welcome to bring a book or choose one from the library.

Maker Club is an open time for students in grades 4-8 to play games, work on a project, or tinker- it is up to you.  Ten laptops will be available for computer games as well as an assortment of board games if you'd like to stay offline.

Middle schoolers in grades 6-8, join us each month for a book discussion, board game, and pizza. You can pick up each month's selection at the Library to read at home before the meeting. 

For parents of all children in preschool and elementary school. 

Learn how to use a sewing machine with a fun project.  We'll start the class with sewing basics and safety.  You will learn how to set up the machine, select stitches and then we will practice what we've learned with our project.

Join Miss Rebecca for our K-1st Book Club, featuring hands-on games and crafts! Each month, we will read a book together at the Library, then get creative with book-inspired projects.

Confidence Club provides girls with a positive adult role model and creates a safe space for girls to develop self-esteem and social emotional intelligence. Confidence Club is a facilitated discussion group that creates a BRAVE SPACE for girl

Intermediate Excel:  This class will provide an introduction to Pivot Tables and Pivot Charts in Microsoft Excel, focusing on how to use these tools to quickly summarize, analyze, and visualize large sets of data.

The Narrative Resonance series pairs works of classical chamber music and literature to explore artistic parallels and their relevance for contemporary audiences.

This is a weekly, one-hour workshop where patrons can build up their typing skills. Bring a computer from home or let us know if you need to borrow a Library laptop. Stay for the full hour or for as long as you need!

Open Morning for Writers is once-a-month quiet writing space for writers at New Canaan Library.  There will not be any instruction or talking in the room.
