Math Buddies* is hosting a math game club for elementary students at the New Canaan Library. All students in grades K-4 are welcome!

We have teamed up with the New Canaan YMCA to create a tranquil, foundation-building class designed to introduce new students to yoga, as well as offer regular practitioners a gentle class to complement their yoga practice.

Join Drawn to Reading, a fun graphic novel book group for 2nd–4th graders! We’ll read the first chapter of a graphic novel together followed by a fun activity.

Join Kurt Gallagher as he plays some favorite kids’ songs for 45 minutes of fun! Best for families with children ages 5 and under! Drop-in for the first 150 families to arrive. 

This group reads books of all genres written by women with an emphasis on diverse, edgy, and emerging authors.

This month, we are reading The Persians by Sanam Mahloudji.

Open Tech is a weekly drop-in program held every Tuesday from 2:00-4:00 PM.

Discovery Zone will focus on the concepts of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) for children in 1st and 2nd grade.

Maker Club is an open time for students in grades 4-8 to play games, work on a project, or tinker- it is up to you.  Ten laptops will be available for computer games as well as an assortment of board games if you'd like to stay offline.

About the Books

Each month, teen leaders from LiveGirl, S.T.A.R., and New Canaan Library guide participants in discussion around a selected realistic or historical fiction book. Open to anyone in grades 5-8.

Join us as we have a fun 30 minute sing-along with James Darling! “Sing With Me” is an energetic family sing-along experience with live music led by guitarist and singer, Mr. Darling.

Musicians make lots of choices--what to play, how loud, how fast! Listeners make choices too, like what to hear and how to move. Join the UNIQUE team for a fun, interactive concert all about musical decisions--yours included! 

Famlies can drop in to come make art with Barbara Rucci! We will have 3 different art stations where you can explore your creativity. No registration needed, this is a drop-in program.

Each month we will take on a 3D design project using a CAD software.  This month we will work on designing a combination puzzle box.
