Is it time to share the stories you've always carried? Writing a memoir is an emotional journey, filled with excitement, anxiety, fear, and bravery. In this four-session workshop, you'll learn to find your voice, embrace curiosity, and build the confidence to share your truth. Discover how vivid dialogue and descriptive language enhance your narrative, and use storyboards, memory maps, and timelines to stay focused in your writing.
Recommended reading (optional): The Art of Memoir by Mary Karr
This is a four-part series of consecutive Thursday evening classes, taking place on October 2, October 9, October 16, and October 23 from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm. Registering for the first class (October 2) will reserve your seat in all four classes.
Please bring a notebook and a favorite writing instrument as we will be doing a lot of writing. No computers, please.
About the Instructor: Carol Hibbert is the author of Knowing There Is More - a collection of extraordinary stories. She has also taught Writing Practice at the Saturday morning Writing Tips class at the New Canaan Library.
